Tangerine Essential Oil

The Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) is a small fruit tree from the Rutaceae family. Originating in southwestern China or north-east India, it is now widely grown in Brazil, Spain, China, and various other tropical and sub-tropical climates.   It is expressed or distilled from the peel (rind) of the fruit, yielding a top-note oil with a delicate, sweet citrus scent, that is very similar to Sweet Orange and Mandarin. Tangerine comes from the same botanical species as Mandarin. The two oils have very similar properties, but Tangerine has a tangier aroma!

Tangerine oil is an uplifting oil that is ideal for brightening and lifting our mood.  It’s a cheery, happy oil that makes us feel safe and secure, and it’s also great for use with kids.

Tangerine oil is uplifting yet soothing, great for calming anxiety and relieving insomnia. It is an excellent digestive tonic, helps to stimulate the lymphatic system and is a great anti-spasmodic for the muscles. It’s also a detoxifying and cleansing oil, making it a great antiseptic and toner for the skin!

Tangerine is perfect for the time of year when nature is resurging its creative cycle of growth – an oil for uplifting, cleansing, and keeping you calm as you embrace the new season!

Secure and insomnia free

Digestive Balance

Working to stimulate digestion, Tangerine can help improve sluggishness in the digestive system – for things such as constipation.  It’s also a mild anti-spasmodic, so great for any stomach cramps.

Blend Suggestion:  Mix 3 drops Tangerine with 3 drops Grapefruit in 15ml of base oil and massage into the tummy area with clockwise circles to help stimulate digestive balance.

Tangerine combines well with:

Other citrus oils such as Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Lavender, Geranium, Rose and Ylang Ylang.
