The Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) is a small fruit tree from the Rutaceae family. Originating in southwestern China or north-east India, it is now widely grown in Brazil, Spain, China, and various other tropical and sub-tropical climates. It is expressed or distilled from the peel (rind) of the fruit, yielding a top-note oil with a delicate, sweet citrus scent, that is very similar to Sweet Orange and Mandarin. Tangerine comes from the same botanical species as Mandarin. The two oils have very similar properties, but Tangerine has a tangier aroma!
Tangerine oil is an uplifting oil that is ideal for brightening and lifting our mood. It’s a cheery, happy oil that makes us feel safe and secure, and it’s also great for use with kids.

Blend Suggestion: Add 3 drops Tangerine and 2 drops of Lime to 15ml of your fragrance-free shower gel for an uplifting boost that sets you up for the day!
Secure and insomnia free
As it is such a calming oil which inspires feelings of security and safety, it’s also great for easing insomnia.
Blend Suggestion: Combine 2 drops Tangerine, 3 drops relaxing Lavender and 2 drops Ylang Ylang and use in an essential oil burner or aromatherapy diffuser before bed, to aid a more restful night’s sleep.
Working to stimulate digestion, Tangerine can help improve sluggishness in the digestive system – for things such as constipation. It’s also a mild anti-spasmodic, so great for any stomach cramps.
Blend Suggestion: Mix 3 drops Tangerine with 3 drops Grapefruit in 15ml of base oil and massage into the tummy area with clockwise circles to help stimulate digestive balance.
